Olympic projects, regeneration and tourism
I worked on several commissions connected with the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, including promotional material distributed to delegates at the Beijing Games, tourist guides for the area around the Olympic Park and the official guide to Stratford, produced as a brochure and an app, to coincide with the opening of the Games. I continue to work on projects that focus on the economic development of East London.

Why I enjoy writing about this topic: I have lived in East London since the mid-1980s, close to the Olympic Park and the neighbouring development Stratford City. Like other local residents who have sometimes put up with sneers at our unfashionable postcode, I am proud to see East London’s transformation from the capital’s poor relation to its rising star. The 2012 Games surpassed everyone's expectations and I am optimistic about the legacy that will endure.
